A daily question dreaded by many is "What are we having for Dinner Tonight?"
The answer could be -
stopping on the way home after spending a busy day at work to shop for
ingredients and deal with the checkout lines. Once at home you prepare
dinner then clean up the kitchen and the pile of pots/pans in the sink!
the kids need to go to dance or soccer so you stop at one of the fast food restaurants.
you have the ingredients you need at home but are too tired to cook, so you pick up some take-out. Then, a couple days later, you remember the wasted produce and meat in the bottom of the fridge.
it's to the local family restaurant and paying a lot for 'just okay' food while worrying about how nutritious the meal was for everyone.
There HAS to be a better answer!

I have always been around great cooks. My father's mother was a good 'comfort food' cook. My mother is a good southern cook who entered and won many baking contests when I was young. I have an aunt that catered beautiful weddings.
While in high school and college I started collecting cookbooks, and at times enjoy reading them as much as a book on the bestsellers list (I now have over 2,500). After college and working as an interior designer in Philadelphia I became interested in raising funds for a non-profit and made a career change. Becoming a development officer gave me the opportunity to demonstrate my love for cooking, which I did by creating and preparing luncheons for volunteers, kick-off parties for events, and refreshments for committee meetings. I consulted with and approved menu preparation and theme selection for numerous large-scale fund raising events. During this time, I started creating weekly menus for several families.
Over the years I've taken many different cooking classes,
but learned the most during the ten years that I was a student of Chef
Fritz Blank*. This prepared me for a new career as a Personal Chef.
*(Chef Blank was the owner/Chef of the renowned Philadelphia French restaurant Deux Cheminees for 25 years until his retirement and closing of the restaurant in May 2007).
Why should I use your service? You may think having your own personal Chef is an unattainable luxury. Think again. Many people reward themselves with someone to clean their house, iron their shirts, care for their lawns etc., so why is it unreasonable to have a 'professional' nourish your family with healthy dinners?
I'll plan your menus, shop for the groceries, cook and package the food, and clean up. How much time will that save you each week - 10 to 15 hours?
What does it cost to use your service? Since everyone has different tastes, pricing depends on what you select for your menu. For instance, if you want rack of lamb, filet mignon and seafood every meal then your cost will be higher. A basic in-home meal preparation service can includes 3 to 5 different entrees, 4, 6 or 8 servings of each with an appropriate starch or vegetable side dish for each ($ 200 - 500). The cost of the service will vary with the selection of entrees and the number of servings and at our first meeting we can come up with the right plan for you and your family. The cost of other services like dinner/cocktail parties, tastings, and brunches/afternoon teas depends on the number of guests and the menu selected.
Do I need to be at home when you cook? No, you don't have to be at home. Once a cooking date is scheduled, you and I will arrange the best way for me to enter your home for the time needed to prepare the meals. Remember, the only way you will know I have been there will be the wonderful aromas and all the packaged dinners stored in your refrigerator.
How long will the food preparation take? Depending on the menu complexity, I may spend 4-8 hours in your kitchen.
How often should I use your service? This is based on your personal preference, weekly, bi-weekly, or once a month. Some clients enjoy it so much they want a weekly service. Others use the service to supplement the meals they prepare. Once you have used I Love This Food! Personal Chef Service, you can adjust your schedule according to your demands and preferences. There is no long-term commitment required.

"Your tuna quiche is absolutely the most perfect comfort food -- I happen to have had a rough day at work on the last cook day and having that waiting in the fridge sure was a nice way to relax and let the day's stress slip away. And who ever thought of Dijon mustard with green beans is a genius -- oh my, those didn't really stand a chance once we tasted them. We devoured the trout on onions the next day -- delicious! Thank you as always -- it is such a pleasure to eat so well."
- Julia C, Wenonah
"Black bean soup was the best I've ever had with just the right amount of spice. And the Shrimp and Grits were unbelievable delicious! "
- Rick R, Cherry Hill
Now that the dust has settled, Leny and I want to tell
you what a lovely experience we had Sunday at your hand. Our dinner
party for 12 was perfect.
The food was superb. The hors d'oeuvres delicious, and I'm so glad there was some pâté left over for our next few days' delight. There was an unexpected hint of sweetness underlying the Pea Mint soup, the lamb redolent with herb and the decadent desserts.
And all done seamlessly, and -- as your website promises -- the kitchen left spotlessly clean. But not only that, everything put in its place.
And the best of all? We both got to be with our guests all of the time. Never before! What a pleasure that was.
Our very best to you,
- Stewart P, Penn Valley, PA
"Thank you so much for your hard work and excellence. The food was superb and your professionalism made the entire experience (dinner party for 4) very enjoyable. Thank you again and I would recommend you to anyone."
- Frank R, Clayton
"Tanya, you did it again! The flounder with parmesan and the squash & tomato casserole were wonderful. You really have a way with seasoning and putting the perfect combination of foods together. We definitely hope to see those again in the future."
- Donna W, Blackwood
"Had to let you know the baked chicken with corn was so, so good. Put it on our list of favorites, please."
- Janice T, Moorestown
"Tanya, many thanks for helping me change my diet. Your vegetarian selections have been perfect. The carrot lasagna and the stuffed portabellas were very tasty. And the different risotto, rice, quinoa and other grains you have incorporated into dishes along with lentils and fresh vegetables have been very good for me. Can't wait to see what's on the next menu."
- Jay S, Egg Harbor
"I received so many comments after the brunch. Everyone loved the omelet and waffle stations! Thanks again for being so dedicated and doing a wonderful job."
- Paula E, Valley Forge, PA
"Our family's annual reunion was the best ever this year because of you. Thank you for taking care of the needs and wants of the different kids (2 to 15 years old) and all of us older kids, too. Mother and Dad have not stopped talking about what a wonderful weekend they had in Rehoboth Beach. Each meal was outstanding! You were very considerate of each person and their likes and dislikes which was a major undertaking since there were 14 of us in the house. When it was time for everyone to leave we all agreed we could not or better yet did not want to do this again without your delicious food. So please, put us down for next year. We'll be going to Cape May!"
- Jim and Mary P, Claymont, DE
